About the lighthouse: Built in 1827 in Havre de Grace at the mouth of the Susquehanna River, this light is the oldest on Chesapeake Bay. The 43-foot white stone masonry tower once housed a fifth-order Fresnel Lens, on of the smallest lenses available, but this was removed when the lighthouse was deactivated. Overall lamp height is 24".
